Calendar types define the different calendars you set in your account.
Key Features
Custom Categories
Create calendar types that match your organization's services. Instead of a generic "appointment," define specific types like "Initial Consultation," "Quarterly Check-In," or "Service Appointment" so your team and members know exactly what to expect.
Reminder Campaign Linking
Each calendar type can be linked to an Appointment Reminder campaign. When a member has an appointment of that type, the reminder sends automatically at the interval you configure — 24 hours before, 2 hours before, or any custom timing.
Reusable Configuration
Once you create a calendar type, it is available for all future appointments. The configuration — name, duration, and reminder settings — carries over to every new booking of that type.
How to Set Up Calendar Types
Step 1: Navigate to Settings
Click Settings in the left-hand navigation and locate the Calendar Types section.
Step 2: Create a New Calendar Type
Click Create Calendar Type and enter a descriptive name. Choose a name that clearly communicates what the appointment is for — both to your team and to members who receive reminders.
Examples of calendar type names:
- Consultation
- Service Appointment
- Quarterly Review
- New member Orientation
- Follow-Up Visit
Step 3: Configure Duration and Options
Set the appointment duration and any additional options your platform supports, such as buffer time between appointments or specific location details.
Step 4: Link a Reminder Campaign (Optional)
Attach an Appointment Reminder campaign to this calendar type. The reminder will send automatically before each appointment of this type based on the timing you configure in the campaign.
Step 5: Save
Save the calendar type. It will now appear as an option when scheduling appointments for members.
Using Calendar Types
Scheduling Appointments
When you schedule an appointment for a member, select the appropriate calendar type from the list. The system will automatically queue any linked reminder campaigns.
Editing Calendar Types
Navigate back to Settings → Calendar Types to update the name, duration, or reminder settings at any time. Changes apply to future appointments — existing scheduled appointments retain their original configuration.
Tips & Best Practices
- Create types before scheduling. Set up your calendar types during initial account configuration so they are ready when you start booking.
- Use descriptive names that anyone on your team can understand at a glance.
- Link reminder campaigns to each type to reduce no-shows. Even a simple 24-hour reminder makes a significant difference.
- Keep the list manageable. Create types for distinct categories of appointments, not for every variation. "Consultation" is better than "Monday Consultation" and "Tuesday Consultation."
Common Questions
Can I have different reminders for different calendar types?
Yes. Each calendar type can be linked to its own Appointment Reminder campaign with unique messaging and timing.
